The Story

After the Fires

The devastating bushfire season destroyed thousands of hectares of native bushland. Many plant species unique to these regions face local extinction without intervention.

The Seed Bank Project

Working with botanists and Aboriginal land managers, we are establishing community seed banks that preserve genetic diversity and provide a foundation for regeneration. Each seed bank serves as both a conservation resource and a living classroom.

How It Works

Volunteers and community members collect seeds from surviving plants, catalogue them using traditional and scientific knowledge, and store them in climate-controlled facilities. When conditions are right, we organise large-scale planting days.

Updates(1)

Our team has now catalogued over 500 native plant species from the recovery zone. This data will guide our replanting priorities for the coming season.
