Youth Cultural Leadership Program
Empowering First Nations youth through a 12-month mentorship program combining traditional knowledge with modern leadership skills.
The Story
Bridging Two Worlds
Young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people often face a disconnect between their cultural heritage and the demands of contemporary society. This program bridges that gap by pairing youth with elders and community leaders.
The Program
Over 12 months, participants engage in on-country learning camps, leadership workshops, cultural practice sessions, and community projects. Each cohort of 20 young people works together to design and deliver a project that benefits their community.
Impact So Far
Our pilot program saw 18 out of 20 participants complete the full year, with three going on to university and five starting community enterprises.
Updates(2)
We are now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort. Over 60 young people have already expressed interest from communities across the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
